Thank you all for being part of it and for helping to make it happen — for your presence, your energy, and for sharing the moment together.

A heartfelt thanks to MoE, KRØYER and DJ Grrrls 666 for making the evening truly exceptional on a musical level.

We are truly grateful that, especially now in winter, we could once again turn our eyes toward the Polish–Belarusian border — thanks to the movie “We Were Prisoners of the Polish State”, directed by Rut Kurkiewicz and Wojciech Szumowski, and the music video “XENOS” – Zle Oko, directed by Johanka Olichwer and Kasia Mateja, with photography by Agata Kubis and Mikolaj Kiemblowski.

It was important. It was moving. Thank you 🤍

On the 30.01.26 there will be an eclectic selection of music played for the first time by DJ-nes Girrrls 666.

DJ Grrrls 666 (NO/PL)
DJ Grrrls 666 (Zle Oko & Johanka Olichwer) is a DJ duo born in the underground, hellish landscape of Oslo.
Their selection covers a wide span of genres: from techno, punk, disco, metal, and noise, through electro and experimental sounds, all the way to the synth-driven aesthetics of earlier electronic eras.
Their sets imbalance between the nostalgic and the kitschy, the danceable and the completely undanceable.

On 30.01.2026, at KAFÉ HÆRVERK, we will show the report "We were prisoners of the Polish state" — a film that reminds us that the humanitarian crisis at Europe’s borders is still ongoing, and that people seeking protection due to war, conflict, persecution, and famine often face violence, lack of safety, and harsh living conditions instead of help.

"We were prisoners of the Polish state" (PL)

Film and discussion about detention camps for refugees in Poland.

Since the summer of 2021, many people from Middle East and Africa seeking protection have been entering Poland and thus the European Union via Belarus. This new migration route leads through forests and swamps and finally a frontier that is highly equipped and shielded by border troops from Poland. A lot of people die on this way, yet it is still perceived by many as safe to reach Europe. Those caught by Polish border guards, however, face two scenarios: Being illegally pushed back to Belarus or being locked up in Polish refugee prisons.

The film „We were prisoners of the Polish state“ by Wojciech Szumowski and Rut Kurkiewicz tells the stories of refugees who came to Poland and, instead of receiving protection, were locked up for months or even years under very harsh conditions. They were subjected to violence, hunger, abuse, and racism, and received no medical or psychological help. In prison, they went on hunger strike to fight for basic human rights to respect and safety.

The film was produced for the TV channel TVN24 and caused heated debates in the country when it was aired.

The humanitarian crisis on the Polish–Belarusian border continues. People from countries affected by war are trying to find a more peaceful life in Europe. This is not easy when they have to walk on foot through a frozen forest and when border guards use methods that violate human rights, including pushbacks from Poland to Belarus. With this short video, we want to show that we still remember the situation at the border.

“XENOS” is a short video to the song of Oslo based polish one woman punk / noise project ZLE OKO (pol. for the Evil Eye). “XENOS” in greek means “The Other” and the lyrics are about the racism and xenophobia happening on the polish- belarussian border. The video is edited and directed by Johanka Olichwer and Mateja and the black and white documentary pictures were made at the border by polish activists: Agata Kubis and .kiemblowski.
