Tim Kliphuis – violin / Often described as a modern heir to Grappelli, he brings that same singing, violin‑led phrasing to contemporary stages, combining classical finesse with folk and jazz improvisation so the lines feel at once elegant and deeply swinging. Having studied with European Sinti gypsies and toured with gypsy guitar legends such as Fapy Lafertin, The Rosenberg Trio and Angelo Debarre, he has internalised Django’s rhythmic “la pompe” and melodic language, which gives his solos that unmistakable Django‑Reinhardt‑meets‑Grappelli vibe: lyrical, fiery, but always melodic.
