I picked up a number I had only done only once before for the teen show at earlier this year. It’s a number where I open up a lot, and talk about having an invincible disability. I have OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder), and in this act I try to convey how hard it’s been finding love. Not a lot of people understand it, they think OCD is just this one thing they’ve seen on a tv show or something. It’s not. It affects everyone with OCD differently.
Finding love was something I really struggled with, because a lot of people assumed and didn’t even take the time to actually get to know me. I didn’t want to hide my disability and it is important to me that the people in my life are aware that I have it, even though it rarely affects others.
I have found someone that loves me with my OCD, and I’m eternally grateful for that ❤️ But I wanted to perform this again when the theme for the show was “Unapologetically me”, because I felt it fit. Thank you and for the opportunity to talk about this in front of the teens ❤️
