Jennifer Lee (US) & Iacopo Longo (IT)

We are sad to announce that Laura Keat cannot make it to Oslo Balboa Weekend after all.
But even if we will miss her there is no need to worry for the quality of the classes! Iacopo Longo made a blazing teaching team with Jenn this summer, and now he will come to Oslo and let us take part in that great energy here in as well.

Iacopo first stepped onto the social dance floor in 2017, when he discovered Lindy Hop – and swiftly fell head over heels for the entire swing dance family. Since then, he's been mostly dedicating himself to the elegant intricacies of Balboa and Slow Balboa, balancing his passion with a career in mathematics (yes, really!).
Iacopo's dancing is playful, flowy, smooth and energetic always characterised by a big smile. With over a decade of teaching experience, a sharp analytical eye and a structured approach, Iacopo has a real knack for breaking down rhythm, movement and body awareness into clear, accessible concepts – perfect for dancers of all levels.
And if he gets a tad too enthusiastic mid-class? That’s just the Italian charm coming through.

The venue is Sentralen, same room as Oslo balboa weekend. The music will be any tempo as long as it swings!. If you dance balboa and a bit slow balboa or Lindy Hop this one is for you!

We have still spots for both leads and follows at our Intermediate level. This is not a beginner level, but for you who maybe just started to travel to festivals for dansing.
A: You have been dancing balboa regularly for some time, both taking classes and dancing socially. You have a good grasp of the basic steps and patterns like up hold, down hold, out and in, toss out, lollies and swivels, and know a few variations. You have a fair understanding of the balboa rhythms, and can switch between dancing in closed and open positions. At this level you will learn several variations and figures, and work on improving the flow in your dance.

Introducing Thursday nights band: Simple Jonnys easy jazz band draws inspiration from early swing, trad jazz, and the vocal-driven jazz of the interwar era. Fronted by Johan Ohlanders (double bass/vocals), the band combines driving basslines with charming vocals and storytelling. Together with Lars Frank (clarinet), Tobias Bergstrøm (guitar), Håkon Endal (piano), and Magnus Eide (drums), they create a rhythmic and playful soundscape that’s highly danceable!
