About Barbosa Film
Barbosa Film is a feministic production company based in Oslo, Norway. The company started in 2014 and is run by the Norwegian, Belgian and Colombian sisters Nina Maria and Liv Joelle Barbosa Blad. Nina is the managing director and producer whilst Liv is a director and scriptwriter. Barbosa Film also works with a wonderful range of up-and-coming and exciting new voices.
Barbosa Film produced several short films including My Sister, that won the Amanda award in 2017. The Manila Lover was a “Best short film” nominee at the 2019 Semaine de la Critique in Cannes. The latest good news is that Daddy’s Girl won the prestigious Startssladden prize at the Göteborg Film Festival this year.
In September 2019 Barbosa Film premiered their first TV-series, the youth drama Nudes in collaboration with the Norwegian Broadcaster, NRK. In march 2020 Nudes premiered on BBC Three as their first non-English series ever! Nudes is an international success and has been sold to more than 10 countries around the world. Barbosa Film is currently working on developing three series, three feature films and three shorts.
