Pure mayhem in the black skimmer colony when someone came back with a snack… all the chicks swarmed the parent who had to try to get to their chick before it was taken…

Taken with respect to the birds comfort and freedom. We sat and lay down in the sand with our long lenses so as not to disturb their important work.
