COlabs serves as a conduit between property owners seeking world class mural installations and a diverse roster of creators who can realize their vision. COlabs services include: sourcing of site or sites to host commissioned artwork, assembling a budget of materials necessary to execute the project, and thoroughly documenting the process, via written word, still photography, and documenting broadcast quality filmed content, including aerial cinematography.

The Twist is a gallery, a bridge, and a sculpture, all in one. Set in the middle of Kistefos sculpture park, the 1000 square meter building twists into a sculptural form and spans 60 meters across the Randselva river.

Contrary to what the eye perceives, The Twist consists only of straight lines. The long aluminum and wood panels are twisted as in a deck of cards to form a fan shape. The illusion is that you see curves everywhere, but in reality everything is straight.

Immensely grateful to be here in the vibrant as a guest participant of the 2023 . Organized by + and now in its third year, the hosted 70 international location managers and producers, providing the opportunity to meet with film commissioners from Spain’s various regions, along with production professionals representing 14 other countries.

As if this weren’t enticing enough, the SLM is followed by a four day audiovisual familiarization tour, or , where scouts are invited to visit the most cinematic locations in each region of Spain.

Lucky me, I ended up in Madrid! With knowledgeable hosts from .madrid + , I had the opportunity to see first-hand some of the most notable locations in the city and region, including Estacion Cero, aka ‘the ghost station’, a historic stop, with exquisitely preserved 1920’s period details that are camera ready.

'Elemental'
Cbloxx, Downtown Los Angeles 2021

‘Elemental’ draws its primary inspiration from Leonardo Da Vinci quotes around nature. He derived a solid belief that everything in the universe is connected and that through studying/observing nature we can learn about everything. I hoped downtown locals could escape into ethereal Californian landscapes , the overwhelming beauty thats right on the doorstep ... and it's fragility.

In many ways the global change we are living in has encouraged humans to reconnect with nature as a form of self medication/meditation. Undeniably we as a civilization have taken much for granted and as the world still spins on its head maybe one silver lining and a reminder we could all use is that we need her (mother nature) more than she needs us:

'Nature is the source of all true knowledge. She has her own logic, her own laws, she has no effect without cause nor invention without necessity' Leonardo Da Vinci

As technology advances the world becomes more and more digitized, exacerbated by the global pandemic our carbon footprints are becoming ever more complicated. Observers, thinkers, dreamers and creatives how do we receive the weight of responsibility and change, does it bend us? Its safe to say that there is a great deal to be learned from Da Vinci's outlook and if nothing else the value of escapism through studying the natural world is a diamond to be mined.

Mid-pandemic, with a US-international travel ban in effect and a scant few places we could even meet, our reunion was set for Akumal, Mexico. We didn’t realize it at the time, but the project/adventure would reveal how much cosmic beauty still remains in this world when you pause to take a look. During our stay with we took a day long roundtrip journey from Akumal pueblo to Sian Ka’an Biosphere with Ibraham, a charismatic tour guide, educator + proud Yucatec Mayan. Rambling down a dirt road which often resembled the surface of the moon, we absorbed hours of Ibraham’s wisdom. One observation resonated in particular — ‘We are in the Riviera Maya, but where are the Maya?’ This simple question lingered in the air and on our minds, transforming the way we interpreted the landscape as we progressed, ultimately informing the narrative for this mural and short film.

’Twin Heroes’ is one of the most famous Mayan myths, a story told to demonstrate the complementary pairings of life + death, sky + earth, sun + moon. As per nerdy standard, Jay extensively researched the tale, which speaks of reincarnation, energy transfer, of two brothers in perpetual pursuit of enlightenment until they are ultimately reanimated as deities. It seemed so fitting for a mural that was to be created at the school entrance, in tribute to two former students who had tragically lost their lives.

With our newfound perspectives, we sought to honor the students and the heritage of this region with a poem translated into Mayan by Ibraham, and performed in his native language.

Special thanks to the people of Akumal pueblo for their unending warm during our stay. We will see you again soon!

in october of 2017, i received an exciting + unexpected email from a pair of artists who were keen to collaborate on a community-based mural project.

originally from minsk, belarus with a background in architecture, + presented an aesthetic style the likes of which i’d never seen. despite their jaw-dropping portfolios, which featured massive commissions in cultural hubs like miami, boston, + nyc, they responded with immediate interest when i suggested painting in flint, michigan.

after producing a successful series of water-crisis themed protest murals with earlier that year, was eager to help reshape the resilient city’s narrative using every shade of the rainbow. andrei + julia said simply… ‘count us in!’

nearly 4 years, 2 offspring, + countless murals later, touched down in flint town at long last, leaving this beauty in his wake. all good things to those who wait.

, one half of UK based artist duo .clan straight beasted their first LA solo mural (the first of manyyyy we hope), a Cali-inspired psychedelic dreamscape titled . Located at 415 S Main St in / , the facilitated mural was commissioned by / to commemorate .

Cbloxx - ‘Elemental draws its primary inspiration from Leonardo Da Vinci quotes around nature.
