Formed in 2001, the band has stayed true to the raw and uncompromising sound that defined death metal in the early ’90s — with deep roots in the classic Florida/Morrisound tradition, combining technical precision with a heavy, grinding drive.

With releases like Encyclopedia in Brutalism and Morbid Mental Disorder, Cutthroat have carved their place in the underground through years of brutality, grit and live experience both in Norway and abroad.

Now approaching their 25th anniversary, the machine is far from slowing down. With new material in the works and renewed force in the lineup, Cutthroat are ready to bring pure old school death metal to the Blot. 🔥💀

Oslo/Kongsberg thrashers Arachno are bringing their raw mix of thrash and groove metal to Midgardsblot.

Founded in late 2022, the band has already made serious noise on the Norwegian metal scene, with appearances at Tons of Rock, Høstsabbat and Inferno Metal Festival.

Drawing inspiration from Power Trip, Pantera, Demolition Hammer and early Metallica, Arachno deliver thunderous drums, sharp riffs and pure live energy.

Prepare for impact — Arachno are coming to the Blot. 🤘🔥

Horten’s own Bærzerk return to Midgardsblot with raw, primitive and uncompromising black metal.

With members aged only 18–19, the band has already made a strong mark in the Norwegian underground, channeling the spirit of classic misanthropic black metal with a brutal, direct sound.

Drawing inspiration from bands like Urgehal, Marduk, Sarkom and Svarttjern, Bærzerk bring a necro atmosphere with a sharp, modern attack.

For years, this family of musicians has helped bring the Midgardsblot bonfire to life with drums, voices and pure ritual madness on the beach. In 2026, some of the oldest members of that gathering step into Gildehallen for a one-time-only performance created for Midgardsblot, and only Midgardsblot.

Expect an improvised, wild and heartfelt celebration of the Blot — carried by rhythm, voices, dance and the same magic that has echoed around the bonfire for years.

Following their 2022 performance, Nebala return to Midgardsblot in 2026 to present new material for the very first time.

Their upcoming second album, Rites of Passage, is shaped around the fundamental transitions of human life — birth, love, loss, aging and death — carried through sound, ritual and shared experience.

For this special performance, Nebala will bring a newly developed live format and a special guest, offering the first encounter with Rites of Passage to an audience deeply connected to its spirit.

“This is where the work meets people for the first time. That exchange is part of what completes it — and we can’t wait to bring it to Midgardsblot,” says Nebala founder Jonas Lorentzen.
