Meteor International Theatre Festival

Velkommen til nok en dag full av arrangement fra tidlig til seint under årets Meteor International Theatre Festival. Vi begynner i Visningsrommet med den siste runden av Critical Breakfast.

Etter dette holdes workshopen Environmental Justice Questions Workshop også i visningsrommet, med kunstneren Harun Morrison.

Det er siste mulighet til å se Signe Beckers malerier på Bergen Kjøtt, med en avsluttende seremoni kl 16.00

Tilbake på Visningsrommet er det en ny anledning til å se Be Careful, før vi viser en dokumentar om BIRGET, og så Carte Blanche (NO)s kritikerroste forestillig.

Kvelden avsluttes på ØSTRE med METEOR Natt i samarbeid med Karmaklubb.

Velkommen til en ny dag på festivalen, hvor mye av arrangementene vil foregå på USF Verftet.

Vi inviterer til kritisk frokost med Norwegian Theatre Academy at Østfold University College, og så til Kritikk av kritikken sammen med Tekstallianse, Proscen og Cornerstone Bergen.

Etter dette er det mulig å få med seg OVER ÆVNE på Bergen Kjøtt, før vi viser forestillingen Be Careful to ganger i Studio USF.

Avslutt kvelden med Prøverommet i Visningsrommet, som også blir en feiring av Prøverommets 25 første år. Kvelden begynner med flere korte opptredener med ferskvare (under 20 minutter hver), og avslutter med DJer.

Meteor International Theatre Festival er godt i gang!

I dag er det enda en mulighet til å få med seg Elina Pirinens Mortal Tropical Dances og eneste mulighet til å se Ofelia Jarl Ortegas StM - A Version. På Bergen Kjøtt fortsetter teatermalerne i OVER ÆVNE, og i Visningsrommet kan man få med seg en oversikt over BIT Teatergarasjens første år.

I Visningsrommet er det også en utstilling som vises Teatergarasjens historie.

I dag åpner Meteor International Theatre Festival 2023!

Vi åpner opp på Bergen Kjøtt med Signe Beckers OVER ÆVNE. Publikum kan komme og gå som de vil og følge teatermalernes arbeid.

Etter dette blir det forestillinger i Studio Bergen og på USF Verftet.

Thjerza Balajs forestilling vises kun i dag, så gå ikke glipp av den!

METEOR: BIRGET; ways to deal, ways to heal - Elle Sofe Sara og Joar Nango/Carte Blanche (Sapmi/NO)

En danseforestilling om statlige overgrep mot norsk urbefolkning, og om mulighetene for forsoning.

Sara, Nango og Carte Blanche har hentet sine egne historier, samt alle elementer til scenografien, fra Finnmarksvidda, og inviterer publikum til å overvinne berøringsangsten for et tungt og vanskelig tema. «Birget» er et nordsamisk ord for berging, og beskriver det å mestre eller overleve i et miljø i forandring.

EN:

A dance piece about the Norwegian state’s persecution of Sámi people, and the potential for reconciliation. Sara, Nango, and Carte Blanche have collected their own stories, as well as all the scenographic elements, from Finnmarksvidda and invite the audience to deal with this dark yet important subject. “Birget” is a Northern Sami word for “coping with” and describes the act of survival in an ever-changing environment.

This friday, we invite you to join us for Program Launch - METEOR 2023 at the offices of BIT Teatergarasjen in Teatergaten 10. We offer pleasant company and some simple refreshments on your way through the city. In return, we ask you to take a program with you when you go, and smile a little to the world because this is really something to look forward to.

Finally Saturday!

After 10 days, we end the festival with a bang!

Today is the last possiblity to see Fictions of the Flesh av Fiksdal/Floen/Slåttøy (NO) at the train station, between 12:00 and 14:00.

Frank & Elena av Hugo Hedberg og Karen Eide Bøen (SE/NO) will be performed at Cornerteateret at 14:00. This performance will also be performed on Sunday.

At Kulturhuset i Bergen the Icelandic artist Bára Sigfúsdóttir will present her coming work Flökt, which we will present in 2022; Artist sharing session: Bára Sigfusdottir at 15:00.

At 18:00, we show both Pink Bestiary av Josefa Pereira (BR) at KODE 2, and L'Homme Rare av Nadia Beugré (CI/FR) at USF Verftet.

Back at Kulturhuset, THE ART OF ASSEMBLY IX: Re-assembling Institutions will be at 20:00. This is also live streamed for those who are not in Bergen.

We close the night with a party; Karmaklubb* BALL with Cassie Brødskive, Haus of Friele, and SURPRISES;DJ sets by Karolinski and SYNK, from 19:00 until closing time!

Fictions of the Flesh av Fiksdal/Floen/Slåttøy (NO) will be performed inside Bergen Train Station today from 16 to 18 and saturday from 12 to 14.

Here you can see some glimpses from the performance, and hear Fredrik Floen talk about the piece.

Fictions of the Flesh is a site specific performance, and the audience can come and go whenever they want.
