Canevil Artist based in Bergen, Norway Everyday life is the subject of the Bergen-based artist Canevil’s works.

Canevil can be seen as an observer and commentator who, through his works, portrays the everyday scenes that unfold around us, as well as social dilemmas, political conflicts and identity in modern life. This, with a humorous and occasionally serious presentation. The motifs are people and objects composed of relatable situations that take place around us, often satirical and metaphorical, with su

btle touches and elements that refer to popular culture, consumer society, art history as well as our prehistory. Canevil has been actively present in the urban art scene since 2014. The artist has a background in graphic design and studied art in the 90s. The graphic background comes to light through his use of techniques such as stencils, spray paint and paint, and occasionally physical objects such as textiles. The works are often carried out in a limited palette and the expression ranges from the rough two-coloured ones, to gentler images with several layered tones and elements of colour.

Throwback to a 2019 concept that was never released.
Vehicle tolls were getting nuts and loads were protesting with banners and stickers everywhere protesting the 36nok bompenger fee.
I loved how the parliament building looked like an early 80s space invader ship. All the ‘vehicles’ formed a NOK which for those outside of Norway is the Norwegian currency, but also translated to ‘enough’. All the stars aligned but I think I abandoned it my the amount of cutting involved. Lazy bastard!
