Artist Spotlight: Astrid Drageset & Trude Berg
ASTRID DRAGESET
Drageset’s artistic practice emerges from a fascination with stillness, nature, rhythm, and geometry. She works primarily in egg tempera on linen canvas, often combined with paper or printed woodcuts. Her images are built up in many thin layers, allowing earlier layers to remain partially visible, creating vibration and a subtle interplay between the painted, the paper, and the graphic elements. Through this layer-by-layer process, she explores the relationship between form, line, and surface, and between the soft and the structured. In her work, Drageset seeks a state of calm and reflection, a visual breathing space where the viewer can find their own inner landscape.
TRUDE BERG
Berg’s ceramic objects often reference architectural elements, supporting structures and rebar, but the works also explore the complexity of the human being and our interactions. She is concerned with what is often overlooked or considered insignificant and worthless, and with the apparent hierarchical relationships between the emotional and the logical, and between the solid and the fragile.
