This morning we are setting off on tour to Germany and Austria; the last tour with Edward Gardner as our Chief Conductor.

The first stop on this tour is a revisit of the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg before we go on to the concert halls in Cologne, Bregenz and Frankfurt. We are excited to be performing for the first time in the new Isarphilharmonie in Munich.

Soloists are percussionist Alexej Gerassimez and violinists Isabelle Faust and Veronika Eberle.

The Bergen Philharmonic is deeply saddened to hear of the death of renowned British conductor Sir Andrew Davis. We were fortunate enough to work with Sir Andrew on several projects, among them recordings of music by Delius, Elgar, Sibelius and Vaughan Williams.

We are very pleased to see that our recording of Vaughan William's Symphony No. 9 & Job has been included in Gramophone's overview of Sir Andrew Davis's finest moments on record.
