Here is my last painting (80x120cm) showing in some different interiors.
The music I chose for accompanying this peaceful landscape is Schubert, 4 Impromptus. - My mother who was a pianist, used to play these piano pieces a lot, so listening to them is giving me some wonderful reminders of my childhood. - My mom also loved painting, but she told me she had to be disciplined and focus on practicing her piano skills. So, maybe that’s why she always feels so very close to me when I’m painting…

Finished this one yesterday. It appeared out of a need for something peaceful, simple, stable and beautiful.

I find varying between painting on different canvas sizes quite educational, because it gives me different challenges. I also find it can be actually very exciting to make small paintings on thick paper. Then I can experiment, new ideas can suddenly appear - and I can even paint when I’m staying in our small cottage in the mountains😉🥳.

Min mann og jeg nyder livet her på hytta og går nå korte - men deilige skiturer. Vi er jo ikke akkurat ungdommer lenger og ikke fullt så spreke som for noen år siden, men vi er takknemlige for å få være friske og fremdeles ha muligheten til å komme oss ut i dette herlige vinterlandskapet!

It’s wintertime here in Norway, and as most other Norwegians I just love skiing. - Staying in close contact with nature gives me energy and also a feeling of more inner peace and freedom. Today I was enjoying walking all by myself. No need for talking - just being - in harmony with the nature which is now dressed all in white.

This is the first time I’ve tried out oil painting. I just used it as a second layer over parts of an earlier acrylic painting - and my conclusion after this experiment is that it’s certainly something I feel like doing more! - It indeed feels both inspiring and exciting to try out quite new painting techniques …
So - I think I will still continue painting with acrylics though, but also I will definitely continue learning more about how to paint with oils!
Maybe some of my followers have also tried to combine acrylic and oil painting? - Would be interesting to know!

This photo was taken at our golden wedding day, three days ago. How lucky I am to have a husband who has been supporting me through all these 50 years!
For more than 30 years I used to be a voice teacher, and I have also written a textbook about singing pedagogic - a book that has been used in music high schools and conservatories in all Scandinavia for a number of years.

It was actually not until I retired that I started to paint. A whole new world then opened to me - for what I’m so incredibly thankful!

This big bunch of roses was a gift from our wonderful children and grandchildren.
