This is my latest painting, called ‘The Ayahuasca Tree’. It’s 80 x 40 cm, oil painting on linen.
It’s a honeymoon gift for one of my husband and my best friends. Two and a half years ago I started this painting. They had asked for a gift with a personal touch instead of money. My thought where I can paint this in a few months and when they get married, three months later, I can give them there present but as you noticed it took a a lot longer to finished it🥴.
Ayahuasca is a big thing in there and our lives because of the ceremony’s they had for them selfs. It’s a plant medicine that can helps you in a psychical and emotional way. This is also the reason why it took so long. For myself it meant that I constantly energetic was connected And therefore unconsciously had therapy. Normally I can paint 4-6 hours a day but now it became 1 hour a day and some weeks zero.
On the bottom there is water with a lot of muck and this stands for the trauma or the dark areas in your live. You take the step at the bottom of the tree and grow upwards in the process. You are literally wrung out or put trough the wringer before you can get to the light at the top of the tree.
A big thank you for the people who supported me and gave me tips. I’m so grateful to you .de.saeger 🎨 ❤ 🇳🇱
