I was for about a year refreshing my mind and heart. Doing things related to my work but not always drawing and painting itself. For example I have been working on a customize easel. Something that I wanted for a long time. The one I have now has served me well for many years but as any commercial regular easel it has no personal features that would make my work easier and more comfortable. I will eventually post some photos of that work in progress.
I have also been designing new mouldings profiles for my paintings. All my work on canvas and wood boards come framed with frames that I create myself from "scratch". Using soft wood as a structure base with real fine wood veneer on the top as a finish. The angles in the frames are there to reflect or deflect the light for interesting effects. The colors are matched to individual work to create the unique end product. I only stop when I am satisfied.
