Bij in het (niet ver van ons huis). Met haar goede oog voor kunst, vintage keramiek en kleine meubels, verzamelt en cureert Mariette een mooie collectie samen. Daarnaast geeft ze andere Makers (o.a. )de kans om het geheel compleet te maken… En jullie begrijpen dat ik die kans niet laat liggen. Ik breng bestaande collectie mee, maar beloof dat ik ook wat nieuwe dingen klaar zal hebben.

Het worden dus twee hele leuke dagen met veel moois… en Brabantse gezelligheid (want ja, die zitten echt overal, ook aan de Zaan).

We put this beautiful silk wallpaper in our home and have some left over… waiting to be put to use in another way. Exploring further for my jacob Honig treasure project, with ecoline ink this time.

And then the dust settled 😊

So I will give you a little glimpse of an idea that popped up after a creative brainstorm session with my friend yesterday.
The inspiration comes from the little treasures I received in my mailbox a while ago. Small paintings from late .
I started to translate his landscapes (most of them made in our region, topic water, boats and windmills) on fabric in multiple layers.
Next step is embroidery…

The kindest thing happened to me this week. I had a very friendly gentleman popping into my studio and we had a nice chat about carpentry, craftsmanship, windmills and paintings.
The next day I find this envelope in my mailbox with these wonderful treasures. Paintings made by Jacob Honig that were exhibited at the Molen museum in 1993 (to honor his 100th birthday).
I will treasure these jewels and feel I need to put them to use as inspiration …
