at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague i graduated BA in monumental textile design. i use it every day.

for a short while afterwards i studied 3D Design at the School of the Arts in Utrecht. to avoid the grey and the haste and the endless onrush of world upon fickle world, i create pictures in plane and line and colour. give me a field to gaze upon, an animal at play, or my husband with his nose stuck in a book, my camera is my sketchbook. of one hundred images only one might stick and i’ll play wit

h it until it makes me smile and then i’ll draw it. yes i hope you might find yourself in my images, if only for a moment. yes i hope my drawings will make you smile and think tender thoughts.

i might use the image again, so more people can enjoy it. every piece will be unique though, because i burnt it by hand and the wood will always be different. ps
the idealist in me would like it if we could all understand each other, that's why i wrote this in english and not in my mother tongue, dutch. my advice is to read this in english, not translated by microsoft, otherwise it will all sound like double dutch.
