I'm working on a sweater for myself on the knitting machine. The yarn has a lovely gradient from aqua to light blue. This will be the back piece, fingers crossed it will fit. 😅

Yarn is Marmar, 50% merino, 50% silk. Soft and shiny.

A peaceful day by the sea 🌾🐄

Today I brought old bread to the cows, now relaxing in their new home on the quiet d**e near the sea. It’s a gentle change from the busy road they used to live by, but they seem to love the peace. Some even took the bread straight from my hand—curious, calm, and surprisingly polite! It’s amazing how quickly they’ve settled into this serene little paradise. 💛🌊

Today I tried something a little different: rose-lavender sauce. It’s soft, floral, and kind of nostalgic — maybe because it reminds me of summer afternoons in the garden.

I used fresh rose petals (about 200 g), but you can use dried too — just a third of the amount works fine. Add one or two lavender flowers. Let them steep in just-boiled water off the heat, slow and quiet. Same rhythm as rinsing wool, really.

After about an hour, I strain it to around 600 ml and top it up to 750 ml if needed. Then it goes back in the pan with 325 g sugar, 3 sachets of vanilla sugar, about 25 g pectin powder, and — if you like — a splash of limoncello. Simmer just briefly until it thickens slightly. I usually do the spoon test: dip a cold spoon, and if it leaves a slow trail, it’s ready.

That’s it. Bottled and stored. I like it with yoghurt or on warm bread, but mostly I like that it came from the garden. Small things made slowly.
