The suitcases are almost packed, our stand builder’s truck is loaded and ready to go, and early Monday morning our massage truck will hit the road to Hamburg.

After months of preparation, planning and organising, it’s finally almost time.

We’re ready for four busy days at SMM 2026. Ready to meet customers, partners and friends from all over the world. Ready for good conversations, new connections, technical discussions, lots of coffee and, of course, a well deserved moment to relax in our massage truck.

The AEGIR-Marine team is ready and really looking forward to it.

Navalshore 2026 was about much more than three busy days in Rio de Janeiro.

With approximately 20,000 visitors at the event and an estimated 150 to 200 customers, partners and industry friends stopping by our booth, we had plenty of good conversations.

But for us, the real value was in the quality of those conversations. We discussed upcoming dry dockings, stern tube seal retrofits, propulsion parts, service projects and pilot projects that could lead to long term cooperation. We welcomed long standing customers, strengthened partnerships and talked about new opportunities with companies we have been working with for quite some time.

Some conversations started years ago. Others started right there at Navalshore. And several are already continuing now that the exhibition is over.

That is exactly why being present matters.

A big thank you to everyone who visited our team in Rio, shared their plans and challenges with us and trusted us enough to explore what AEGIR-Marine can do for their fleet.

Navalshore is over. The conversations definitely are not.

12.5 years of Thijs at AEGIR-Marine

On 1 August, our Chief Financial Officer reached a great milestone: 12.5 years with AEGIR-Marine.
Today, Chairman and Owner Ruud Muis took the opportunity to put Thijs in the spotlight and thank him for everything he has contributed over the years.
In 12.5 years, AEGIR-Marine has grown and changed enormously. Throughout that journey, Thijs has been a steady and important force behind the scenes. With his knowledge, dedication and sharp eye, he has guided our growth, tackled countless financial and legal challenges, implemented new structures and built and led a strong Finance team.

But perhaps what says most about Thijs is something much simpler: he is genuinely liked by everyone. No exceptions.
His commitment to AEGIR-Marine goes far beyond office hours. Yes, an email from Thijs can still arrive rather late in the evening. And that same commitment can be found outside the office, where he is a familiar face in our cycling team. From climbing Mont Ventoux during the Martin Visser Classic to riding through the Eifel, and with the Stelvio now firmly on the agenda.

Thijs, thank you for 12.5 years of knowledge, commitment, hard work and being such a great colleague to have around.

It has been a busy and valuable few days in Rio de Janeiro for the AEGIR-Marine team.

Navalshore gave us the opportunity to reconnect with customers and partners, meet many new people and have some great conversations with stakeholders from across the maritime industry.
A big thank you to everyone who took the time to visit us, share experiences and discuss what is happening in the market. These conversations and connections are what make events like Navalshore so valuable.

We leave Rio with new contacts, fresh insights and plenty of conversations to follow up on.

There is something special about working in a shipyard with almost a century of maritime history.

Founded in 1926, NAUTA Shiprepair Yard in Gdynia has grown into a major repair and conversion facility, handling more than 140 projects every year.
And this time, one of those projects included a little AEGIR-Marine craftsmanship.
Our service engineer Pawel was on site to replace both the AFT and FWD seals. Precision work in a place where repairing and maintaining vessels has been part of daily life for generations.

Different specialists, one shared mindset: take pride in the work and make sure the vessel is ready to return to service.

A major propulsion upgrade is the perfect opportunity to carry out critical maintenance below the waterline.

During a recent scheduled dry docking, our highly experienced service engineers, Mark Vedder and Ferry Broekhuizen, completed the overhaul of a size AX1180 aft stern tube seal. With the vessel's propeller removed as part of an extensive efficiency upgrade, it was the ideal moment to replace the aft seals.
The project itself was no small task. An AX1180 seal box is exceptionally large and heavy, requiring extensive experience, careful preparation and close teamwork to complete the overhaul safely and efficiently.

The propulsion upgrade included the installation of a newly designed, lighter and more efficient propeller, combined with other hydrodynamic improvements aimed at reducing fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions.

It is projects like these where the knowledge and experience of our service engineers make the difference, ensuring reliable performance while supporting the next generation of more efficient vessels.
