Join us on 24 July for the festive opening of If You Read This You Are Gay, a solo exhibition by Chris Rijk, presented in celebration of World Pride.⁠
⁠
Known for his bold and playful ceramics, Chris Rijk combines the rich tradition of Delft Blue pottery with contemporary imagery from q***r culture, popular media, and everyday life. Through hand-painted motifs and unexpected objects, he explores identity, desire, masculinity, and consumer culture in a humorous yet provocative way.⁠
⁠
For this exhibition, Chris Rijk presents a new body of ceramic objects that are both intimate and outspoken. At once decorative and subversive, the works reflect on how personal narratives, sexuality, and social norms intersect within contemporary society.⁠
⁠
We are delighted to announce that Roberto Luis Martins, Curator of Fashion and Popular Culture at the Amsterdam Museum, will open the exhibition and introduce Chris’s practice. ⁠

Everybody is welcome from 15:00 to 18:00 at the gallery in Weesp and celebrate the opening with us. ⁠

Photo Basel has come to an end. A warm thank you to all visitors, collectors, and friends who stopped by our booth, shared conversations with us and spent time discovering the works on view. Delicate, feminine yet crystal clear – take a closer look at the work of Carla van de Puttelaar. ⁠

Best known for her iconic photographs of the female body, also turns her lens toward nature. Flowers and other organic elements recur throughout her work, often captured at moments of transformation and fragility. Her photographs combine the timeless beauty of classical paintings with the immediacy of photography, drawing attention to every detail of light, skin, texture, and form.⁠
