We are delighted to announce 'Where The Wild Things Are', the upcoming solo exhibition by Simone Post.
Opening on 12 September from 15:00–18:00, the exhibition presents a new body of work that celebrates Simone's ever-evolving exploration of material transformation and the limitless possibilities of textile. Through an immersive world where textiles, memory and imagination intertwine, she invites you into a universe where the familiar becomes the unexpected.
Simone gives existing materials – and sometimes even entire works – a new life. Using remnants from Drifting Through Textiles, an installation originally created for the Hermès windows in Amsterdam, alongside discarded textiles from the Dutch textile industry and pieces from her own family archive, she creates mesmerizing landscapes and extraordinary realities. Textiles become forests, trees grow grapes and imagination takes the lead.
During the opening, we are honoured to welcome Pao Lien Djie, Curator of Applied Arts at the Centraal Museum Utrecht. She'll introduce you to Simone's practice and officially open the exhibition.
