Somatic Dance Improvisation in Wageningen

The training is for people with an interest in body and movement and with an open explorative mind, willing to commit in the dance practice as an individual and group process.

Somatic Dance is an organic approach to body and movement.
It invites and guides you into a deeper connection to your bodily experience by moving with sensitivity and imagination.
By exploring specific body’s system you are invited to an inner journey of discovery!
This approach develops into a dynamic dance practice in which body and mind are integrated and able to dialogue and inspire one another in action. It is a process where the dualistic approach of body against mind is dissolved into a full-embodied intelligence.

Improvisation is a practice of making dances.
As we develop directly from the physical experience we tap into the
world of dance as a language and open up to its power of communication through composition.
We train our capacity to make choices by being present and tuned to the moment, perceiving and moving as one organic action.

Yin Yang YOGA Somatic classes in Wageningen with Marisa Grande—starting Wednesday September 23rd, 20:00-21:30—Book your spot!

Yin Yang Yoga combines dynamic exercises with holding postures, addressing and balancing both active and passive quality in our body and mind. The class builds up towards a yang dynamic practice, with flow sequences, where muscles are engaged and the emphasis is given on energising and focusing the body. It develops with yin postures, where the muscles are relaxed to tap into the connective tissue, generating an intense and deep physical experience while directing the mind to a state of observation.
It integrates the yoga with Somatic practice and in this block specific attention will be given to the quality of the Organs.

Marisa Grande met yoga through the teaching of Dona Holleman and she is a certified Centered Yoga teacher. She developed further to encompass Yin Yoga, which she found to be an inspiring and rich practice that allows her to merge the knowledge of yoga with the somatic approach of Body-Mind Centering, along with her spiritual practice.

Practice for a human body and a tree

After the outbreak of the coronavirus, Marisa Grande developed a series of day practices on the organs with the central focus on the Lungs and Heart. We have enjoyed practising alone, together, in the Arboreteum Belmonte these last months.
