FAAM invites you at her office in the historic building at the Grave van Solmsstraat 2, Utrecht, for the next edition of our nongkrong hangout:

We are proud to announce FAAM will be hosting our next edition of Nongkrongen in Utrecht: An informal hangout session organized once every three months. Hosted by alternating art- initiatives in and around the city of Utrecht we aim to facilitate a space to connect art-initiatives, artists and their communities. Or simply said: ‘To get to know eachother a bit better.’

FAAM is a grassroots organization based in Utrecht. FAAM connects young Utrecht-based
makers and researchers through transdisciplinary projects, often in collaboration with partners. From a project at the intersection of film, research and visual arts, to an exhibition during the annual History Month in collaboration with the Waterliniemuseum. FAAM stimulates boundless thinking and guides young makers, researchers, and organizations towards social change.

Join us on the 13th of September from 19:00-22:00 at Grave van Solmsstraat 2, Utrecht. FAAM will provide some (non-alcoholic) drinks and snacks, but also feel free to bring your own!

--This event is inspired by the Indonesian concept ‘nongkrong’, literally translated as ‘sitting aroung because your not doing any work’, essentially meaning ‘hanging out’. As a Dutch initiative we translate nongkrong to the Dutch 'werkwoord': ‘nongkrongen’, something we -somewhat ironically- consciously have to make time and space for.--

Bernardus Baldus doet ook mee! Hij is gefascineerd door wereldvrede, humus eten en artfairs! Met zijn avantgardistische benadering zetten zijn sculpturen direct nieuwe standaarden in het werkveld.
Hierdoor verbetert hij de wereld, verbindt verschillende gemeenschappen en rekt dagelijks de grenzen op van wat kunst allemaal vermag. Kortom een kunstenaar naar ieders hart!!

Coming soon: Eva Spierenburg] - Tracing the Body, Chapter 1, 10-11 Sept

Our body functions as a shell where everyday experiences, sensory perceptions and trauma manifest themselves and are archived. In the sculptural installation ‘Tracing the Body’, the visitor is invited to observe their internal body, and make drawings of whatever is encountered in the process. These drawings will later form the starting point for 'Tracing the Body, Chapter 2' .hku 

For Chapter 2, Eva Spierenburg] invited , and to respond to the outcome of Chapter 1. Fleeting notions from the visitor’s drawings settle into new artworks. The exhibition combines contributions from the four artists with a new version of Eva's sculptural installation.

‘Tracing the Body’ is part of ; an exhibition curated by reflecting on different notions of ‘care’.  With individual projects by more than 50 artists on 20 locations in and around Utrecht.
