When your muse comes to visit.

I do about 2-3 paintings a year and I primarily do portraits or figures. I painted this stunning man a few years and it is still one of my favorites.

This group of tatas are ready to be glazed and then fired to 1220C. I love the glaze step, pure black magic f**kery occurs in the kiln.

Larger test tiles complete! All in speckled cream, high fired to 1250 centigrade.
First picture shows the final result. Picture 9 is raw clay and Picture 10 is after bisque firing. Maroon and Purple burn out at this higher temp.
28 colors from Amaco Velvet Underglaze
6 colors from Mayco Stroke and Coat
1 color (True Teal) from Mayco Fundamentals Underglaze
1 color (I named it Donderkut) that is the result of sediment from washing my brushes from all blues/purples/greens collected from September 2020- February 2021.
