The I Paint Flowers Project For our class ‘projectplan’ we are creating a dance film inspired by the work and philosophy of Frida Kahlo.

We’re working together with three beautiful dancers to embody the pain/sorrow, feminism and self-love found in her body of work.

Hey everyone!

Clara and I are two second-year students from the Fontys academy for dance education. We’re very excited to be starting the process of creating a dance film for our class Projectplan. It will be a short film inspired by Frida Kahlo and her body of work. We’re going to be working around the theme’s of self-love, feminism and pain found in Frida’s art and giving our own twist to these. Ofcourse we won’t be doing this alone, we have some beautiful dancers (first- and third-year students) to help us along in the creative process. (Who we’ll introduce to you in the next few posts)

We’re looking forward to making this movie, and we hope you’ll join us in the process by following this page so you can see what we’re up to. We’ll be posting art by Frida Kahlo as well as giving all of you a behind-the-scenes look at the rehearsal process.
