*Bendik Giske Masterclass | September 23, 13:00*

During the Masterclass, Bendik will perform personal pieces and discuss their frame. A small group of students will be taught a piece and the experience of trials and errors. Q&A will follow.

Giske knows that music can be a powerful tool in bringing people together to find ideas, and the longevity of his project is at its utmost a call for care, togetherness, storytelling, and the ability to gather for a shared cause.

Put another way, we are not yet q***r, but we can feel it as the warm illumination of a horizon imbued with potentiality.
We have never been q***r, yet q***rness exists for us as an ideality that can be distilled from the past and used to imagine a future.
The future is q***rness’s domain.
Not yet…
It’s intangible, something that’s sort of visible on the horizon, somewhere, but it’s not really clear what it is yet.

Saturday sees the premiere performance of the theatre play Soldiers, by Fontys Academy of Music & Performing Arts student Enrico Ferri . Enrico initiated the play and composed the music, that is going to be performed by Monoduo.

World War I, three soldiers, one wounded, in the trench-line behind enemy lines. A story of friendship, comradery, fear and loss unfolds.

On 10/6 in Theater De Nieuwe Vorst in Tilburg, at 20:00. On 12/6 at the Storm Festival at Fontys Academy of Music & Performing Arts.

Komende vrijdag, 9 juni, presenteren Fontys Academy of Music & Performing Arts studenten Maureen Lorho, Odysseas Vlamis en Jonatan Repokari hun elektronische werk in de Willem Twee Toonzaal.

Afgelopen maanden werkten ze met de indrukwekkende verzameling historische elektronische instrumenten in Willem Twee studios aan nieuwe muziek.

Het concert begint om 20:30 en is gratis toegankelijk. Komt allen!

WebSoundArt is a platform and community for web-based sound art. The platform aims to increase reflection on and development of sound art on the internet through blog articles, online workshops on programming sound on the web, and an open call.

Their first workshop is Tuesday 23.05 from 19:00 – 21:00 about live-coding sound with Mini Tidal by Celeste Betancur. After that there is going to be a collaborative jam-session on the Estuary platform.

This is a great introduction to coding for those with little or no experience but will also be interesting to those with some more experience already.

There’s also an open call for proposals for new web-based sound art (deadline: 31.08.2023).
