Opening friday 7 March!
‘GLAMPUSS’ by MAISON the FAUX
07.03.25—06.04.25

In collaboration with DJ YoungWoman and performer Arno Verbruggen, MAISON the FAUX investigates paganism. They present GLAMPUSS, an immersive installation that gives new meaning to false gods and forgotten rituals.

Pagan rituals and symbols stand at the core of an immersive installation; rituals and symbols that have been assimilated by Christianity and subsequently found their way as symbols of capitalism. The performance installation explores the tensions between the individual versus the mass, natural versus capitalist cycles and the desirability of abundance.

The project is commissioned by Das Leben am Haverkamp and Rewire as part of a long-term collaboration between the two platforms, facilitating space for experimental crossovers between fashion, performance art and music.

Over Das Leben am Haverkamp

Over Mister Motley

SCREENING: LUXURY

Last but not least we’ll be screening
‘Yiwu’ by Simon Wald-Lasowski
(2020, 108 min)
16—29 December 2024

Simon Wald-Lasowski invites you on a slow, hypnotic journey through Yiwu: the world’s largest small commodities market. The work takes you on an exploration of your feelings towards mass produced items, including attraction, repulsion, beauty within the toxic as well as the endless desire to consume.

Simon Wald-Lasowski in collaboration with Dà Bǔ 大卜 and Augustina Cai 蔡昕媛

In November and December the facade of our studio transforms into an open air cinema. Every year we welcome a new generation of image makers in the field of animation, fine art, fashion and costume design and beyond to be part of this screening.

This edition, Screening: Luxury, critically explores the phenomenon of luxury. What is the meaning of it in a hyper-capitalist society in which ‘client is king’? Can we use luxury and fashion as a lens to unravel power structures, or as an indicator of inequality? A new generation of makers explores and subverts the glossy surface, in order to reconsider the current state of affairs and reimagine our future.

SCREENING: LUXURY

Up next we’ll be screening
‘To Die For’ by Dylan Eno Sprik
(2023, 4 min)
2—15 December 2024

Dylan Eno Sprik explores the deadly allure of Victorian fashion. His film ‘To Die For’ tells the story of arsenic green—a toxic pigment renowned as one of the most beautiful green hues ever created, despite its lethal risks. By drawing parallels to today’s health hazards associated with plastics and microplastics, the film uses 3D-scanned garments and historical narratives to expose the cyclical nature of human behavior in the pursuit of aesthetics.
