The method of the dialectic widely used within culture and arts. It originated already in Ancient Greece and had been very influential in philosophical circles. It has developed by Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle, but was systematized and established as a method by German philosopher George Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel. Since then, it has become a foundational technique to develop political and social theories, philosophy, the educational system and all European way of thinking. The aim of the method of the dialectic is creating a synthesis (a new subject) between a thesis and its opposite, an anti-thesis. The method of the dialectic is built upon a theory of individualism, which shows clear borders between subjects. Within history, European countries always strove for political resolutions in times of conflict.
“Awase” is the act of matching and it was played as a game in the Heian period(794-1185) in Japan. Players turned over clam shells, which all have a different drawings on them. One player picks two of them randomly and has to compare and contrast the two drawings in order to find their similarities and differences. The goal of Awase is not to merge two objects into one, but rather to enjoy the change in perception that happens when two objects are put together.
When there is conflict between two elements we can enjoy the gap, conflict and contradiction, instead of resolving it.
