Last week I had the honour to meet HRH Princess Royal at St. James’ Palace during the launch of “Tear Couture”.

The experiential sculpture and virtual reality film shares the emotions of acid attack survivors and was created to mark the launch of a report from Acid Survivors Trust International (ASTI) and Thomson Reuters Foundation, which calls on businesses to take a more responsible approach to the acid supply chain and help tackle global acid violence.

“Tear Couture” was realized in collaboration with McCann Health London and combines photography with scientific imaging and digital, holographic and VR technologies. Watch out for more on this soon...

Well this week I turned it's bits and bytes into a real life structure. In the coming weeks, I will be working on the Unit that is going to control the humidity and temperature.

Wow! Thank you PlayGround for interviewing me at the MIRA Festival in Barcelona last week! Great to see that Imaginarium of Tears is so widely appreciated. Can't wait to bring it to other parts of the world.

The first sketch of the “Imaginarium of Tears - Museum of Tears. In the middle you will see a 3D representation of a tear, enlarged to a real life sculpture.

In In the coming weeks / months I will be making many iterations, changes and additions to this first sketch. Building, texture, placement of artworks around the tear sculpture, environment, lighting etc.

But I was so happy already with my first step and results that I needed to share it with you. If you have feedback, ideas or suggestions please let me know.

Hopefully soon it will be available in virtual reality. ⠀⠀

We're happy to announce our second guest-speaker Maurice Mikkers for the next edition of Secretopia: Crying Out Loud! on 11 Oct.

In his ongoing project Imaginarium of Tears Maurice Mikkers, photographed tears through a microscope to visualise the story of each tear. By now he has fully mastered photographing our tears and found out much more about the crystals inside them.
