We're still here! After creating a performance and symposium together we're now creating something more permanent...introducing 'Into Territories Unknown', a polyphonic publication exploring the threads of our artistic research, and documenting the events of the symposium for ecological spectatorship. We've been working on this since 2019, and it's gone through many transformations as we've explored how to think and write collectively; giving space to the connections as well as the frictions that arise. For us it has been important to give value to the myriad voices (human and nonhuman) that exist within and outside of us, which connect us as artists to the wider ecological web. We will keep you updated on the process as we enter the design phase later next month.`
'Into Territories Unknown' will be published by HKU Lectoraat Performatieve Maakprocessen early next year, and we look forward to sharing it with you!

Photo: A sneak peak inside the publication: this river of memories documents our participants' experiences throughout the process of developing the symposium.

Meet the artists!
Liza Rinkema presents: 'Moving Matter'
Moving Matter is an audio piece where three audience members experience their inner and outer world being stretched, manipulated and transformed through texts that trigger the imagination. Three audience members are positioned in the garden and are invited to perceive themselves, the objects surrounding them and each other in a different way.

Meet the geo-scientists!
Gijs van Dijk, Daniil Scheifes & Jasper Hupkes present: 'Geohistorical Court'
The impact of humans on the ecology of the earth has grown to a significant extent. The concept of the Anthropocene has been introduced to name this epoch where the Homo Sapiens have this significant effect on earth's geology and ecosystems. However, over the geohistorical time, multiple ecosystems have been changed and impacted due to other species and specific climatic system configurations. What makes the human impact different than all other events? Where is justice to be found? And what does this say about our ecological role as humans in the future? Seven scientists will unravel the lively and imagining information, making the spectator the judge of the past, present and future.

Meet the artists!
Joost Segers presents:
'Thinking water'
WATER: a life-giving but also potentially destructive substance. It is interwoven in our societal, economic and political structures. You can also drink it. In this experiment, Joost will invite us to research a watery way of thinking reality. By imagining from, through and with water, by counting water, framing water and exposing water as water, he questions daily and scientific modes of perceiving and thinking.

Meet the artists!
Arnau Pierre & Claire Second present: 'How to belong to the world again?'

Submerged in videos of traditional Bolivian rituals and its loud sound, the visitor is invited to participate in a strange ceremony mixing Bolivian and Dutch elements to create a basic dance around a huge totem. Through a back and forth between modern and traditional culture, this work interrogates the possibility of our technological society to relearn how to belong to the world again.

Soms is het nodig om uit de sleur van het alledaagse te ontwaken.
