We are excited to welcome you to our upcoming exhibition, To Be Doggo, by Maja Simiơić

🩮Simiơić’s solo show showcases a video artwork as its main focus, but it also sets up an immersive installation in which the visitor is invited to participate in unusual situations. In her varied artistic practice she uses humour, and exaggerates real-life scenarios, as to showcase certain absurdities of individual and social dependency, bureaucracy, and human rights. For this work the artist interviews families who live in the Netherlands and have adopted dogs from non-EU countries, immersing herself in the daily life of a dog as a vehicle to examine institutional power dynamics. Through this satirical exploration, To Be Doggo challenges legal norms and sheds light on the complex, often frustrating world of migration laws, all while offering a fresh perspective on identity and belonging.

We are looking forward to welcoming you to our gallery space!

Trixie kindly invites you to the opening of « Hidden Strings » , the solo exhibition of Daniel Dmyszewicz .dmy on Friday 17th of May, 17:00 - 21:00, and on view until Sunday 6th.

The solo exhibition offers a glimpse into an alternate reality, where the boundaries between the animate and the inanimate dissolve into ambiguity. Drawing from the philosophical concept of panpsychism, Dmyszewicz invites us on a transformative journey, allowing materials to communicate and forms to emerge in a symbiotic dance - blending the more-than-human, the animal, the fantastical, and the partly human to coexist and take shape in a new reality.

« Hidden Strings » is a celebration of the intangible forces that shape our reality. The shadows and whispers serve as a reminder that the world is far more peculiar and far more abundant than we could ever dare to imagine, sparking contemplation and curiosity.

We kindly invite you to the opening of “In the palm of our hands”, the first chapter of our year long program Collective Futures on Friday 16th of February, 18:00 –21:30, on view until Sunday 23 March, from Friday to Sunday 13:00–19:00.

“In the palm of our hands’’ is a mediation into the possibilities of coexistence in the present and future captured through the contributions of Armando D. Cosmos (GB), Þórður Hans (IS), Maria Chiara Ziosi (IT), Lili Huston-Herterich (US/CA) and Liminal Vision (NL/FI).

Within their works, they challenge our understanding of the current and invite us to explore what the future of human-to-human collaboration could look like. As the first chapter of Trixie’s year-long exploration into the possibilities, challenges and opportunities of our planetary future, “in the palm of our hands,” invites us to look into an introspection of how we, as humans, live together today and how we might in the future.
While the saying “in the palm of your hands” is used today to describe that one has control over his environment or oneself, palm reading is at the same time a traditional way of fortune-telling. Following this duality of fate and agency, the exhibition aims to open a conversation into human collaboration by traversing scales, from the cosmic to the intimate, exploring contemporary communities’ contours, complexities, and potential for transformation.

Collective Futures is guiding Trixie’s program throughout 2024 and evolves from considerations arising within the studio collective to interrogate more broadly the principles of collaboration and collective understanding. How can humans live better together for the benefit of all? How can interspecies understanding and more-than-human perspectives attend to the current ecological crisis? To overcome the challenges of our time and move towards a more just future, we have to work together.
