On June 21 'Mobility|Society Live' will take place , an initiative set up by TU Delft designers with the aim of exploring the fundamental role of mobility in shaping society. We're proud to announce that Nederlands Dans Theater will play a leading role.

NDT 2 will get this midsummer mobility event moving with a rare performance of 'The Most Fascinating Problem in The World' by Tom Weinberger. A series of key notes, discussion panels and networking reception will follow. Highlights include Ruben Terlou on mobility and its geopolitical consequences, Kader Abdolah on stories that move us and - not to be missed - our Artistic Director, Emily Molnar on the fundamentals of movement.

Op 21 juni vindt Mobility|Society Live plaats, een initiatief van ontwerpers van de TU Delft met als doel de fundamentele rol van mobiliteit in het vormgeven van de samenleving te onderzoeken. We zijn er trots op te kunnen aankondigen dat Nederlands Dans Theater een hoofdrol zal spelen.

NDT 2 zal dit midzomerse mobiliteitsevenement in beweging brengen met een zeldzame uitvoering van 'The Most Fascinating Problem in The World' van Tom Weinberger. Daarna volgt een reeks key notes, discussiepanels en een netwerkreceptie. Hoogtepunten zijn Ruben Terlou over mobiliteit en de geopolitieke gevolgen, Kader Abdolah over verhalen die ons bewegen en - niet te missen - onze artistiek directeur, Emily Molnar over de fundamenten van beweging.

NDT is a company consisting of passionate artists, dancers and choreographers. Many of them often take part in a wide variety of artistic projects and activities with regard to talent development and education, outside of NDT's programming.
In line with this, NDT 1 dancer Fay van Baar is organizing 'More Than Movement' together with former NDT dancer Ève-Marie Dalcourt and Korzo. 'More Than Movement' is a three-day symposium for professional dancers which explores artistry in dance through multidisciplinary lectures, workshops and Q&As. One of the featuring artists in this event is choreographer Alexander Ekman, who has created many works for NDT and will return to NDT in the next season. During 'More Than Movement' he will be giving a Q&A session regarding how artistry comes into play as a choreographer.

NDT is een gezelschap dat bestaat uit gedreven kunstenaars, dansers en choreografen. Velen van hen nemen vaak deel aan een grote verscheidenheid aan artistieke projecten en activiteiten met betrekking tot talentontwikkeling en educatie buiten de programmering van NDT.
In dit thema organiseert NDT 1-danser Fay van Baar 'More Than Movement', samen met voormalig NDT-danser Ève-Marie Dalcourt en Korzo. 'More Than Movement' is een driedaags symposium voor professionele dansers dat 'artistry' (kunstenaarschap) in dans verkent door middel van multidisciplinaire lezingen, workshops en Q&A's. Een van de artistieke deelnemers is choreograaf Alexander Ekman, die veel werk voor NDT heeft gemaakt en in het komende seizoen bij NDT zal terugkeren. Tijdens 'More Than Movement' zal hij een Q&A-sessie geven over hoe artistry te pas komt als choreograaf.

The 'Hans van Manen Festival' at Het Nationale Ballet - Dutch National Ballet premiered last week! During the festival the (inter)national dance world gathers to celebrate the 90th birthday of master choreographer Hans van Manen with 4 unique programmes, 19 groundbreaking works and 8 companies and ensembles. NDT will of course be there too!

NDT 2 dances his 'Simple Things' from 2001, part of Programme III and to be seen on June 22, 23, 24 & 26.

NDT and Korzo join forces to stimulate the development of emerging creators in 'Up & Coming Choreographers'!

For this edition, talented makers Liliana Barros, Emilie Leriche and Jermaine Spivey get a chance to make new creations for the dancers of NDT 2. In a short time span of several weeks, the choreographers are challenged to create a work entirely according to their own interpretation: from choreography, to scenery, costumes and light. The project concludes with a performance in the intimate setting of the Korzo theater in The Hague.

NDT en Korzo slaan de handen ineen om de ontwikkeling van opkomende makers te stimuleren in 'Up & Coming Choreographers'!

Voor deze editie krijgen de talentvolle makers Liliana Barros, Emilie Leriche en Jermaine Spivey de kans om nieuwe creaties te maken voor de NDT 2-dansers. In een kort tijdsbestek van enkele weken worden de choreografen uitgedaagd om een werk te maken geheel naar eigen invulling: van choreografie, tot decor, kostuums en licht. Het project wordt afgesloten met een voorstelling in de intieme setting van het Korzo theater in Den Haag.

Met FIND bundelen drie Haagse dansinstellingen - Amare - Den Haag, Holland Dance Festival en NDT - hun krachten om spraakmakende internationale dansproducties naar Den Haag te halen en Den Haag als de dansstad van Nederland verder te profileren.

A.s. zondag 12 juni is de voorstelling 'À mon bel amour' van Anne Nguyen’s Compagnie par Terre te zien in Amare. Een voorstelling waarin eclectische dansvormen, zoals voguing en waacking centraal staan: www.amare.nl/amonbelamour

In À mon bel amour komen moderne dans, breakdance, voguing, waacking, popping, krumping en ballet samen. Opgevoerd door Compagnie par Terre met choreografie van Anne Nguyen.
