My body booked the hotel lobby 😄

Apparently I came to London to explore the city…
and my body came to review every comfortable chair in it. 😂

Chronic illness travel means plans change. A lot.

Sometimes the adventure is Big Ben.
Sometimes it’s a beautiful street.

And sometimes it’s finding the perfect hotel-lobby sofa, ordering a coffee and declaring:

“Yes. This is sightseeing now.” ☕😂

I’m learning that travelling differently doesn’t mean I’m doing it wrong.

Less rushing.
More resting.
Still making memories.
Change the pace, not the dream. 💜

Saree Style in Delft

There was a time when getting dressed was simply getting dressed. I never thought about how much energy a shower would take, whether doing my hair would leave enough energy to go out, or how many hours—or days—I might need afterwards to recover.

Chronic illness changed even the smallest things.

And yet, every now and then, I still want to dress up. To put on something beautiful. To wear the saree. To walk through Delft looking slightly out of place and somehow completely like myself at the same time.

I was late. I was rushing. My body was definitely not cooperating with the plan. And somewhere between the temple, food and walking around Delft in a saree, I realised how much these little moments have come to mean to me.
Not because I suddenly feel well.

But because illness may have changed the way I live my life, without taking away the person living it.

And sometimes, apparently, that person is the only woman wandering around Delft in a saree. ❤️

Disability is not a lesser life. It is a different way of moving through the world.

Different does not mean less valuable. A wheelchair, slower pace, more rest or a different route does not reduce the worth of the person living that life. Maybe accessibility begins when we stop measuring everyone against the same definition of “normal.”

I have survived worse than being misunderstood

There was a version of me who was afraid of disappointing people.
I wanted to explain myself properly. Keep the peace. Make sure everyone understood my intentions. I thought that if I was kind enough, patient enough and clear enough, conflict could somehow be avoided.

Then life introduced me to things far more frightening than someone not liking me.

Illness. Loss. Uncertainty. Watching the life I knew disappear and having no idea what would replace it.

Those things changed me.

Not into someone who doesn't care, but into someone who understands that another person's disapproval is not an emergency.

I have walked through enough fire to know the difference.

One of my favourite places ❤️

Some places don't ask you to explain yourself.
They don't care how productive you have been, how much you managed that week, or how many things you had to cancel just to make it there.
You can simply arrive.

Living with Long Covid has changed my spiritual practice too. There are days when meditation feels easy and days when even sitting upright feels like an accomplishment. There are gatherings I miss, practices I cannot keep up with and moments when I wonder whether I am doing any of it "properly."
And then I come somewhere like this.

The flowers. The colours. The deities. The familiar feeling of devotion. Dressing up for Krishna.

And something inside me becomes a little quieter.

Maybe devotion isn't always about how much we can do.
Sometimes it is simply about remembering where our heart wants to return.
❤️🙏

Some chapters taught me enough. I don’t need to reread them.

Not every ending needs another conversation. Not every hurt needs another explanation. Sometimes the lesson is the closure.
