The piece has a loosely composed form with an open score. As a result, the sonic tunes will be unique to each performance.

ALT_SPACE — Mᴇᴇᴛ Müşfik

Originally from Istanbul, Turkey, Musfik [] came to The Netherlands to study electronic music composition at HKU. He worked with various music, theatre, and dance styles as a composing producer and performer.

In recent years, he has been interested in collaborative creation methods, either traditional forms of jamming and improvising or coordinating interdisciplinary projects. In addition, the online interactions between people, increasingly popular partly due to the pandemic, led him to consider smartphones as a medium for collaboration.

On July 19th, musician and composer Müşfik Müftüoğlu will take our breath away during our next ALT_SPACE performance. At ALT_SPACE, Müşfik will present CallLab, an experiment in which the audience guides a solo set in various ways.

The audience will be randomly split into groups, some directly controlling musical parameters, some making decisions on the form of the piece, and some giving arbitrary suggestions that are open for interpretation by the performer. The piece has a loosely composed form with an open score. As a result, the sonic tunes will be unique to each performance.
