Most of our tents are one clean sweep of canvas. This one is closer to a building. An open one.

At Familiepark Plaswijckpark in Rotterdam, The Netherlands you can find our green stretch tent that works like an open house. A truss frame carries the roof, masts lift the canvas into peaks, and second, lower roofs slopes in beneath the main one. Wooden poles on the edge, in combination with concrete blocks holding it all down.

The colour is the park’s own green. You do not see it often on a stretch tent, and it sits right into the trees and grass around it.

From above it reads as one green roof over a play area. From underneath you see the whole frame doing its work. While kids are playing underneath it.

The PVC panels fix to the header rails on the additional poles, with two steel bars for strength in wind and rain, and a built in window in each for natural light.

When the weather clears, you roll them up and the terrace opens again.

Standard widths are 2.5, 3 and 3.5 metres, delivered in sand as standard and available from stock.

At holiday park Landal Aelderholt in The Netherlands, guests fly the Skyflyer at speeds up to 40 km/h across the lake. Before they leave the tower, they get their briefing under a stretch tent we built for the park.

It is a 7.5 by 10 metre tent on fixed poles, finished with luxury sidewalls. The fixed poles keep the floor open for a full group, and the sidewalls close off the weather coming off the water, so the same spot works in summer and in the middle of winter.

When the Skyflyer is quiet, it stays in use as a dry place to sit and watch.

H.C.R. Boschzicht in Echten has been a fixture in The Netherlands since 1932. Its terrace now stays open through the winter, under a stretch tent whose luxury sidewalls close the whole space off when it turns cold or wet. Take a look at the special entrances cut from our own canvas.

A restaurant named after their little girl.

Bistrôt Chez Charlotte sits in the woods around Doorn in The Netherlands, a young couple’s French bistro in its first season. It looks like a fairytale.

We built them an 8 by 14.5 metre stretch tent on fixed chestnut poles, then put it up ourselves under the trees. Such a wonderful environment.

Otto, one of the owners, asked for fixed poles for one reason: he likes a shape that lines up, and it leaves more floor for the tables.

On the banks of the Sèvre in Niort, western France, Kévin Eberhard runs Mazette! Le Château, a small bed and breakfast at the gateway to the Marais Poitevin.

Last year he bought his first stretch tent and placed it in the garden, a cosy spot in a 7000 square metre park by the water. He is thinking like a real entrepreneur without losing his heart for nature in rural France.

One of the largest stretch tents we have built this season now stands at Capfun De Rotonde in Enspijk, a family park in the Betuwe region of the Netherlands, set around its own swimming lake.

A tent on this scale does something to a place. It rests on fixed chestnut poles, thick and heavy, which carry the canvas and leave the floor beneath them open and usable. Those poles also give the tent its character, a warmth and an honesty that a lightweight frame never quite has.

The circus performs under it, the dance troupe takes the floor, and on some evenings it becomes the bar.

It is not the first Capfun park we have worked on, and a project this size is a good reason it will not be the last.
