What happens when two artists fall in love with each other’s work? An art swap!

I had had my eye on the work: ‘Thriving Nature’ by Sarah van Rossem for a long time. It’s a beautiful, high-contrast piece featuring sorrel leaves.

After a major renovation at Sarah’s home, her clay-plastered wall was looking a little bare. So I created this piece, Elm Leaves, with the stem made from a real tree branch.

So happy with this art swap! 🤍

Remember last week when it was so hot outside that it felt like stepping into an oven? Ariel and I thought it would be the perfect time for a photoshoot. :)

We headed to our location early in the morning and combined the rural backdrop with my soft, woolly artworks. It’s amazing to have such a talented photographer by your side—someone who captures your work and the story you want to tell, exactly as you imagined (and even beyond your expectations).

Thank you so much, Ariel LK 🤍

Around this time 8 years ago I graduated from my study Fine Arts. I must say it feels so much longer ago, so much has changed..

8 years ago the first steps of starting my business.. I remember the feeling of not really knowing if I wanted to work as a artist. I started by just coming back to the thing I liked: creating. My hands, the material and hours of just making and nothing else.

Slowly and with ups and downs I developed a own style and interest. With a lot of parttime jobs on the side and being tired of that. I kept felting a urge of creating thing.

Now 8 years later I’m so grateful and blessed to do the thing I love! I know this is really a privilige. Thank you for being part of the journey! 🤍

Sometimes you’ll see plants with white or gray spots on the leaves. They are covered with powdery mildew, a disease that is caused by a fungal infection.

Recently is saw these white spots on the Perennial Honesty plant (in Dutch: Wilde Judaspenning) it catches my eye, even I know it’s a plantdisease that causes these white powdery spots.. it has something interesting.. it looks like the leaves are shining a soft light on the forest floor.

By embroidering and felting yarn into the wool, I tried to visualize this mildew.
