We warmly invite you to the opening of Re-Formation, our duo-solo exhibition featuring Beninese artists Sanda Amadou and Marcel Kpoho, on Saturday, 29 August at 3 PM at OpenArtExchange.

Join us for drinks and bites in the presence of Sanda Amadou, who will introduce his work and artistic practice.

At the heart of Re-Formation is the process of transformation. To re-form is to reshape, to make something anew, and to reuse fragments of the past to create new beginnings. The exhibition asks: how can materials, memories and existing forms be reassembled to acquire new meanings and possibilities?

Through distinct visual languages, Amadou and Kpoho explore transformation as something both material and conceptual. Amadou draws on the interconnectedness and regenerative processes of ecosystems, while Kpoho transforms discarded tyres into sculptural forms that carry traces of movement, use and memory.

Together, their works suggest that nothing is entirely static: materials change, meanings shift, and traces of the past can be reshaped into new possibilities and futures.

Sneak Preview & Textile Works Reveal

You are warmly invited on Friday 17 July from 17:00 at OpenArtExchange (Hoogstraat 85, Schiedam) for a very special evening.

Ahead of our participation in the African Food Festival (Rotterdam, 18–19 July), we will present a first glimpse of our curated selection for the festival. Discover the works in an intimate gallery setting before they are presented to the wider public.

In the spirit of the AFF, the evening will include a selection of African food and snacks, inspired by the cultures represented in the pop-up exhibition.

We will also unveil the textile works of Rachel Malaika, newly presented as part of our exhibition Sacred. Through delicate craftsmanship and powerful symbolism, her works explore themes of femininity, identity, and strength.

Throughout the evening, the OpenArtExchange team will be present to host short guided tours of the exhibition, sharing the stories behind the artworks and artists.

Can’t join us on Friday? Visit us at the African Food Festival Rotterdam, 18–19 July at the Museumpark, where we will present our special pop-up exhibition.

CASCA WEEK at OpenArtExchange

During King’s Day, we opened this short special exhibition. Casca Week puts Casca’s work at the center, a layered exploration of history, identity, and imagination through powerful visual storytelling.

For this occasion, selected works are available at special prices. A good moment not only to visit, but also to collect.

CASCA WEEK bij OpenArtExchange

You’re invited to The Odyssey, a new exhibition at OpenArtExchange

The Odyssey brings together the work of Princess Keirath, Richard Late Lawson-Body and Patrick Musombwa.

The exhibition explores the human journey through existence: the search for meaning, navigating adversity, and creating personal and collective spaces within a vast and mysterious universe.

Through different visual languages ranging from abstraction to detailed symbolic compositions, each artist engages with a different dimension of this shared journey, their own Odyssey.

Patrick Musombwa will also be present during the opening.

Join us on May 2 for the opening at OpenArtExchange in Schiedam.
