LAST DAY FOR APPLICATION

Open Call for residency in Schiedam/Rotterdam

For our next edition of Dans in Ontwikkeling we are looking for open minded, independent and self- motivated dance makers with a spark for a new creation.

We offer:

– 4 to 6 weeks residency in Magnezy Dance studios, (Boterstraat 81, Schiedam)
– Artistic and dramaturgical coaching, production, promotion and technical support
– Coverage of traveling costs within the Netherlands based on NS Dal-Vrij
– Public presentation facilitated by Theater aan de Schie / Wennekerpand, Vijgensteeg 2, Schiedam
– Presentation fee for the maker and performers
– Full authorship rights for the end results
– Professional pictures and video registration

Our residency periods for next season 2025 – 2026 are:

29th September – November 2025 = ends on 18/11/2025

2nd December – February 2025 = ends on 10/02/2026

1st April – May 2026 = ends on 26/05/2026

Application must include:

- motivation statement (max. 150 words) + availability to either 1st, 2nd or 3rd residency period.
- concept incl. mood board and ideas for stage settings, costumes & music (max.1xA4)
- C.V. of the maker; co-creators; dancers
- link to video material (max 5 min.) registration of previous works or rehearsals.

‘Dans in Ontwikkeling’ is a project initiated by Liat Magnezy with the aim to create a supportive platform for beginning dance artists in their first steps of becoming independent professional choreographers. The project is produced by Magnezy Dance Productions in collaboration with Theater aan de Schie; and is made possible by Gemeente Schiedam, Theater aan de Schie, Elise Mathilde Fonds and Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds.

Ken jij iemand die echt iets leuks wil doen tijdens de schoolvakantie?

Tijdens schoolvakanties wordt bij Danspuls een gratis tweedaagse dansworkshop gegeven door verschillende top choreografen. Tijdens deze workshops proberen we verschillende dansstijlen uit.

Iedereen van 12-18 jaar is welkom of ze nu al gevorderd of nog beginnend zijn.
Wie zich nu inschrijft én meedoet met de twee workshop dagen, maakt kans op nieuwe sneakers!*

Wanneer: tijdens de schoolvakanties
Data & tijd: zomervakantie
dansworkshop 2:
zaterdag 23 augustus en zondag 24 augustus 12:00 -16:00 uur.
Data & tijd: herfstvakantie dansworkshop 2:
zaterdag 18 oktober en zondag 19 oktober 12:00 – 16:00 uur.
zaterdag 25 oktober en zondag 26 oktober 12:00 – 16:00 uur
Voor: 12-18 jaar

Toegang: GRATIS

*Actievoorwaarden: om kans te maken op een sneakerbon ter waarde van 150 euro, is deelname aan tweedaagse dansworkshop verplicht. Je kunt éénmalig meedoen met deze winactie.

Komende dinsdag 17 juni presenteert S’DANS de voorstelling “Mondo Perfetto”, waarin danser en marimbaspeler elkaar live ontmoeten in de muziek van Bach. 💜

Mondo Perfetto
In concert-voorstelling Mondo Perfetto presenteert Corpo Máquina’s artistiek leider Guilherme Miotto een mix van golven en impulsen. In de eenvoud van beweging probeert hij een manier te vinden om de gelaagde realiteit waarin de spelers zich bevinden met publiek te delen. Monumentale gebaren en klanken ontmanteld in stappen en ritmes.
De marimba brengt de verborgen vibraties onder deze legendarische composities aan de oppervlakte. De suites verkennen lage registers en worden als drijvende kracht ingezet om verschillende vibraties in het lichaam te onderzoeken

Muzikant Pedro Paixão speelt bij iedere voorstelling live de volgende composities:
* Cellosuite nr. 1 in G groot, BWV 1007
* Cellosuite nr. 5 in C klein, BWV 1011
* Chaconne uit vioolpartita nr. 2 in D klein, BWV 1004
