calaceitjazz , a gig I have been looking forward to for months.
Why? Well, first of all: it is in the village where Laura Overbeeke and I have bought a house, and this seemed like the perfect opportunity to show everyone what I do.
Second of all: I knew I would be able to do exactly what I wanted to do. I prepared a set of music with a strong connection to jazz. Whether it was house, funk, boogie or disco. I wanted to show that it’s all related and most of all: danceable!
Whatever it was that I expected, the night delivered that, and more. What a great time!
And where else does a ‘toro el fuego’ come out of nowhere, other than Calaceite? I noticed the fireworks, but not the plants that burst into flames on the balcony. The local plumber, Dani made quick work of that, with some teamwork.
So this is what we can do in Calaceite, when good people and good music come together. I’m already looking forward to another magical night!
Let’s see if we can match the vibes in Rotterdam when I open up for Jayda G during 360 Degrees at BIRD sept 25th!
