☰ TAKE OFF #17 ☰ TRY-OUTS CIRCUSSTAD FESTIVAL

Two weeks ago, our 4th-year students took to the stage and presented the first public try-outs of their graduation acts, in festival! Here, there were sharing a work-in-progress with a wider audience, both indoors and outdoors.
The students are now in full swing to further develop their graduation creations. Meanwhile, here is a behind‑the‑scenes video for you with rehearsal snippets and performance highlights from the Circusstad C4 try-outs.

☰ GROUP SHOW C3 ☰ PINK HORIZONS - between collapse and care
We are excited to present to you: PINK HORIZONS, the group production of the 3rd year bachelor students, performing in Rotterdam at Circusstad Festival 2026!

Pink Horizons is a contemporary circus creation reflecting on Bauhaus as both a historical movement and a living practice. The piece examines how creation emerges from crisis, while colours and forms act as statements rather than decorations. Through collective structures and moments of playful disruption, the piece traces cycles of destruction and care. It asks not what the future will be - but how we choose to shape it.

☰ FINAL GROUP SHOW YEAR 4 ☰ DOGS NEVER MELT - 27 & 28 February 2026
The premiere is coming near! We’d love you to join us for Dogs Never Melt, the group production of our fourth year bachelor students, performing at Theater Zuidplein Rotterdam.

Dogs Never Melt, plays with the idea of human evolution, and the figure of the superhero. What do superheroes truly mean to us? How do we inhabit the idea of being super?
Super what, with whom, how many at once? In this piece, the lone, wandering hero gives way to a collective hero—decidedly human.

Directed by Nicanor de Elia, Dogs Never Melt is a circus creation, and part of the graduation for the bachelor's program in Codarts Circus Arts. The performers, our contemporary superheroes bring the impossible to life, through collaboration, trust and shared risk.

We thought we’d start off the New Year by sharing some Bells with you! 🔔✨

Previously, we introduced you to the tradition of the bell: each time a student unlocks a new trick, they ring the bell in the main hall, and the whole school (yes, staff included) rushes over to watch and cheer them on 👏✨

Throughout the study year, our students create & present own work and share their personal artistic research trajectory with an audience. The final own work showings are open to the public & these performances are for free!
