Vers van de pers! De nieuwe W1555 Buurtkrant met op de cover een artwork van Alejandra Huerta ! De knusse tijd van het jaar nodigt ons uit om meer tijd binnen door te brengen. Het is het moment waarop we gezellig binnen gaan zitten, een kaarsje opsteken, warme sokken aantrekken en een goed boek lezen of - een buurtkrant! 🙂 Onze november editie bevat het achtergrondverhaal van Wolf Coffee en een nieuw item: Gentle Lady, die je vragen beantwoordt over zaken van het hart. We bekijken het GRAW Atelier Weekend opnieuw door de ogen van Yoana. Wist je dat je met Matthias naar satellieten kunt luisteren of je kunt laten inspireren door geluiden uit het dagelijks leven in Charlois, zoals Bergur Anderson? Maak ook kennis met het Sunflower Soup Collective. En dat is nog niet genoeg, we hebben ook een wintermeditatie en een gedicht over ademhaling opgenomen. Waarom oliebollen halen als je ze ook zelf kunt maken? En als je zin hebt om te experimenteren, hebben we een paar aanraders voor je in de buurt. Welkom, winter!

Fresh off the press! The new W1555 neighborhood newspaper with artwork by Alejandra on the cover. The cosy time of the year invites us to spend more time inside. It’s the moment when we snug in, light a candle, put on warm socks and read a good book or - a newsletter! 🙂 Our November edition features the background story of Wolf Coffee and a new item: Gentle Lady, who answers your questions about matters of the heart. We are revisiting GRAW Atelier weekend through the eyes of Yoana. Did you know you can listen to satellites with Matthias or draw inspirations from sounds of daily life in Charlois, like Bergur? Meet also the Sunflower Soup Collective. And if that’s not enough: we included a winter meditation and a poem on breathing. Why go out for oliebollen if you can make them yourself? 🔥🍂🍁On 26th October Saturday, our 3rd ‘Night Open’ air movie screening at our W1555 community DIT gardens, Wolphaertstraat 51. By Joshua Thies and Bebe Beliz for an autumnal black and white experience! 🎬🎥

At 17:00 the barbecue will be smoking and drinks awaiting! Bring your own food and blankets; After sunset around 19:00 film screening will start!

From the same titled book of F. Kafka’s , directed by Orson Welles; The Trial (1962) is a film with dream landscaping cinematography on absurd sense of dread, suffocating injustice and individual helplessness.

🍕 Afgelopen zaterdag 21 september vond onze eerste ParticiPizza avond plaats! Volgens een oud gebruik uit Torino (Italië) koos iedereen zijn eigen taak. Ware teamwork. Denk aan een saus-team, deeg-team, toppers-team, bak-team, afwas-team, coördinatie-team, opruim-team, muziek-team, sfeer-team en kassa-team. En wat was het fijn, lekker en gezellig! 🙂 Love community-life! Voor herhaling vatbaar.

🍕 Last Saturday 21 September, our first ParticiPizza evening took place! Inspired by an old tradition from Torino (Italy) where everyone chose their own task. True teamwork. Think of: sauce-team, dough-team, toppers-team, baking-team, dishes-team, coordination-team, clean-up-team, music-team, atmosphere-team and cashier-team. And how nice, delicious and fun it was! 🙂 Love community-life! We look forward to the next edition.

Wegens slecht weer verplaatst! ✨ Op zondagavond 15 september, hebben we onze tweede Open Night Air filmvertoning in onze gemeenschappelijke tuin! Wederom een nederige eindezomerbijeenkomst georganiseerd door Joshua Thies en Bebe Beliz.

The Servant (1963) is met ongeordende cinematografie en verleidelijke soundtracks een film over klassen, destabilisatie en psychoseksualiteit. Verfimd naar het gelijknamige boek van Robert Maugham’s, geregisseerd door Joseph Losey.

Vanaf 19.00 uur tot zonsondergang cirkelen we rond de barbecue. Er zijn gratis snacks, drankjes en vuur op de grill, maar neem alsjeblieft ook zelf eten en dekens mee! Rond 20.00 uur begint de filmvertoning.

Aarzel niet om meer te vragen, te delen en vrienden* uit te nodigen. *Voor W1555 bewoners is de entree gratis. Bezoekers betalen een symbolische bijdrage aan onze bar voor gratis drankjes en supporten daarmee aankomende edities.

We hopen jullie allemaal te zien!

Postponed due to bad weather! ✨ On Sunday evening, 15 September, we will have our second Open Night Air film screening in our communal garden! Another humble end-of-summer gathering organised by Joshua Thies and Bebe Beliz.

With disordered cinematography and seductive soundtracks, The Servant (1963) is a film about classes, destabilisation and psychosexuality. Painted after Robert Maugham’s book of the same name, directed by Joseph Losey.

From 7pm until sunset, we will circle the barbecue. There will be free snacks, drinks and fire on the grill, but please bring your own food and blankets! Around 8.00 h, the film screening will start.

Don’t hesitate to ask for more, share and invite friends*. *For W1555 residents, admission is free. Visitors pay a token contribution to our bar for free drinks, thus supporting upcoming editions.

Retrospecitief: Op vrijdag 26 juli ontving W1555 een delegatie Taiwanese stedenbouwkundigen van de gemeente Taoyuan voor een rondleiding en diverse presentaties. Wat een geslaagde dag!

Na de presentatie door Daan Bossuyt over stadsplanning en (sociale) huisvesting in Rotterdam, deelde W1555’s Kathrin de inzichten over het ontstaan van onze wooncorporatie W1555. De lezingen, in de ruimte van .community, werden gevolgd door veel interessante vragen en gesprekken. En er was een smakelijke (plantaardige) lunch bereid door onze bewoner Karen.

We kregen terug: “De gasten hebben het bezoek als heel inspirerend ervaren. Ze waren onder de indruk van het verhaal van W1555 en dan met name de organisatie van de samenwerking met en de pro-actieve houding van de bewoners. Iets wat ze niet gewend zijn in Taiwan. We hebben uitgelegd dat dit project ook voor Nederlandse standaarden uitzonderlijk is.” 😁

Retrospective: On Friday 26 July, W1555 welcomed a delegation of Taiwanese urban planners from Taoyuan Municipality for a tour and several presentations. What a successful day!

After the presentation by Daan Bossuyt on urban planning and (social) housing in Rotterdam, W1555’s Kathrin shared insights on the origins of our housing corporation W1555. The lectures, in WOLk’s space, were followed by many interesting questions and conversations. And there was a tasty (plantbased) lunch prepared by our resident Karen.

The feedback we get: “The guests found the visit very inspiring. They were impressed by the story of W1555 and especially the organisation of the cooperation with Woonstad and the proactive attitude of the residents. Something they are not used to in Taiwan. We explained that this project is exceptional even by Dutch standards.” 😁

Vorige week waren er twee W1555 rondleidingen - verzorgd door onze bewoners Floris en Kathrin - aan de woningbouwcorporatie Quawonen uit Krimpenerwaard en Woonkracht10 uit Papendrecht.

Heel leuk dat we zoveel aandacht krijgen van woningbouwcorporaties uit Zuid Holland. Er is veel aandacht voor deze vorm waarin bewoners en woningbouwcorporaties samenwerken! Dat kunnen wij alleen maar aanmoedigen.

Op het programma stond een rondleiding door de blokken en tuinen, lekkere lunch, presentatie van Woonstad (door Armando & Fense) en een aansluitende Q&A . Het was theoretisch een bedrijfsuitje maar wel zo serieus als een excursie! Komende week is er weer een rondleiding.

Last week there were two W1555 tours - provided by our residents Floris and Kathrin - to housing association Quawonen from Krimpenerwaard and Woonkracht10 from Papendrecht.

Nice that we are receiving so much attention from housing corporations in South Holland. There is a lot of attention for this form of cooperation between residents and housing corporations! We can only encourage that.

The programme included a tour of the blocks and gardens, a delicious lunch, a presentation by Woonstad (by Armando & Fense) and a subsequent Q&A . It was theoretically a company trip, but as serious as an excursion. There will be another tour next week.

We hebben verzuimd dit pareltje te delen.. dus beter laat dan niet: De W1555 Buurtbrief van Maart 2024 - voor iedereen in de Wolphaertstraat, Gouwstraat, Clemensstraat en een stukje van de Katendrechtse Lagedijk - viel begin april in de brievenbussen. Met op de cover een tekening van onze jongste telg Mitzi (4). Dit was het dikste nummer ooit, met maar liefst 28 pagina’s! We horen graag wat je ervan vond! Met dank aan onze communication groep die momenteel druk bezig is met het juli zomer-nummer. Houd je brievenbus in de gaten. :)

We neglected to share this gem... so better late than not: The W1555 Buurtbrief of March 2024 - for everyone in the Wolphaertstraat, Gouwstraat, Clemensstraat and a part of Katendrechtse Lagedijk - dropped into letterboxes in the beginning of April. With a drawing of our youngest member Mitzi (4) on the cover. This was the thickest issue ever, with at least 28 pages! We'd love to hear if you liked it! Thanks to our communication group who are currently busy working on the July Summer-issue. Keep an eye on your mailbox. :)
