24 September is BIRD’s Alternate Take Festival.
For Alternate Takes, BIRD brings together some of Rotterdam’s most exciting talent development platforms to introduce the next generation of artists.
As part of One Love, our 15 year anniversary celebration from 18 September to 1 October, BIRD opens its stage to emerging talent from across the city. Together with .of.knowledge , .north and , we’ve curated a line-up that reflects the diversity, creativity and musical spirit of Rotterdam’s next generation.
Representing Cult North is the angelic , bringing mellow vibes and a tender live sound with her band at 20:00.
From House of Knowledge, brings alternative R&B to the stage, performing in two languages at 21:30.
De Nieuwe Lichting presents two acts. First up is , exploring an everchanging soundscape where the absurd meets the unexpected, at 22:15.
At 23:00, .electronix takes over with a rhythmic blend of African percussion and electronic experimentation.
And then there’s BIRD.
Through our own talent development and programming, BIRD has always been about creating space for artists to experiment, connect and grow. For Alternate Takes, we put that into practice with two artists from our own musical universe.
The Nest brings together , , and in an eclectic, jazz infused ensemble that moves freely across styles. Catch them at 20:45.
And when the club calls, BIRD’s very own takes over the decks. From timeless classics to the latest and greatest, expect a dancefloor journey from 20:45 until 23:00.
