TEC ART Festival is back at Katoenhuis!

In a world going to s**t, from impending climate doom to mad tech billionaires, there can sometimes seem little to be cheerful about.

From 27 - 30 March (during ), TEC ART dares to prove otherwise with 'The Bright Side of Dystopia'—a large-scale immersive exhibition featuring international media artists.

This year's edition of the festival argues that even during society’s race to the bottom there is always hope to be found. ‘The Bright Side of Dystopia’ is a dramatic attempt to look beyond the utter madness of reality: perhaps after total collapse we can finally look towards a bright future again!

Participating artists: Mark IJzerman & Sébastien Robert , Sophia Bulgakova , Yuri Yefanov , Rustan Söderling , María Pérez-Lozao Humanes, Köppel Ramseier (cenc) & Workshop 4.0 .0, Hicham Berrada , Lennert & Sander, Eunju Park, Dagmar Schürrer , Isabel Waller

TEC ART 2020 QUANTUM SUPREMACY

"Quantum supremacy is a revolutionary breakthrough of technological superiority. Google, Microsoft and other major technical companies and collaborators are working on this development. As a result, quantum computers will soon perform calculations in 3 minutes, which the fastest computer of today would take about 10,000 years!

What does this technological superiority mean for our near future? "

With Quantum Supremacy TEC ART this year has a mind-blowing, controversial but urgent theme. Quantum supremacy stands for that moment when a quantum computer will outperform a classical computer in unimaginable revolutionary ways. It is claimed that quantum computers will be 1 billion times faster than present day computers! Google, Microsoft, IBM and other companies and their collaborators worldwide are competing to reach quantum supremacy and to develop a consumer grade quantum computer. Competition is fierce. When Google claimed to have reached quantum supremacy mid 2019 it was criticized and denied by other developers and critics immediately. It seems, however, they are getting close.

How would it be to live in a quantum future? Can we co-create it? https://2020.tecart.nl/
