SKUG is established by Guevara and Arthur Meenks, and stands for SoundKings Underground. (Or as the urban dictionary explains: a skype hug, a burp, a nasty/skanky female or an eccentric/crazy person)
Since September 11th 2008 SKUG organizes club and (by now notorious) underground warehouse party’s throughout Rotterdam, inviting likeminded artists and people from all over the country. In 2010 SKUG
organized their first parties outside Rotterdam, and 2011 was the year of SKUG on Tour; a tour throughout the Netherlands to spread the word and well-known easygoing vibe. There’s also still the wish to launch the SKUG record-label, but that’s only a matter of time. In 2012 SKUG will return to Rotterdam to make a spectacular comeback in their hometown! The SKUG crew currently includes the following resident artists: Arthur Meenks, Berry Straw, Guevara, Klankarbeit (live), Paul Gasille, PD Marcos, Wouter S. SKUG operates from the SoundKings Studio, located deep in the ports of Rotterdam, where the crew joins on a daily basis to create, share and play the music they love.
