Cannes jury president Juliette Binoche called it an "unidentified flying object." We just call it unmissable. Bi Gan's RESURRECTION moves through silent film, noir, and myth across 100 years, six dreams, one dying monster, and a woman using the lost techniques of cinema to keep dreaming alive. You've never seen anything like it.

Silvio Soldini is best known for light-footed Italian comedies. THE TASTERS is not that.
Set in 1943 at Hitler's eastern headquarters, it follows the women recruited, or coerced rather, into eating the Führer's meals before he does. The premise sounds like a thriller. The film is something quieter: a study in confinement, complicity, and survival, shot with real formal care by cinematographer Renato Berta (long-time collaborator of Godard and Straub).

One of the more surprising European releases of the year.

What does it mean to support someone's freedom when you deeply disagree with their choice?
That's the question at the heart of LOS DOMINGOS, an intelligent drama that invites reflection and provokes discussion. Oh, and it's the most-awarded Spanish film of the year.

Every meal could be her last. Literally.

THE TASTERS follows a group of women forced to eat Hitler's food before he does — testing for poison at Wolf's Lair while the war rages outside. Based on a true story, Silvio Soldini's film is quiet, claustrophobic, and unexpectedly moving: a WWII drama told through hunger, fear, and the small solidarities that form between women with no way out.

She's 17. Her family expects her to pick a university. Instead, she tells them she wants to become a cloistered nun. LOS DOMINGOS is a sharp, warm, and quietly provocative family drama from Spanish director Alauda Ruiz de Azúa — a film about faith and religious fervour, about certainty and doubt. Golden Shell winner at San Sebastián. Five Goyas, including Best Film.

A woman dies. Her spirit returns. Inside a vacuum cleaner.

🇹🇭 A USEFUL GHOST, the debut feature from Thai director Ratchapoom Boonbunchachoke, is one of the most genuinely original films to come out of Cannes Critics' Week in years. A deadpan romantic fantasy that somehow becomes a political allegory. Strange, funny, and quietly devastating.
