GNDG is Gundega Melberga - a contemporary collage artist based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. After graduating from the Master's program Education in Arts at Piet Zwart Institute of the Willem de Kooning Academy in summer 2021 she re-discovered her love and passion for collage. She works in hand-cut paper collage and photo assemblage mediums. In some of her work, she mixes hands-on techniques with

digital means of expression such as non-narrative video & soundscapes. The analogue aspect, however, is essential to her work - it allows to engage with the work on a more sensuous level and it adds a layer of physicality. The small errors and imperfections made during the cutting or glueing process become traces of her presence, her touch. Each collage comes about by handpicking magazine clippings and then re-arranging them again and again, often this process resembles painting where, instead of working with paint and brushes, she is using images and paper.
