When the body, mind, and soul connect with the pure energy of movement, our ancestors guide us and reveal the path. Through Afro-Cuban chants and our inner rhythm beyond counting, beyond 1, 2, 3, 4 we awaken a deep connection to what is essential. After three hours of inner knowing, everything begins to align.

Ea Ae Afrekete
Yesterday, April 19, we vibed through a powerful gathering of Afro-Cuban dance with live music in Rotterdam.

Afrekete Arará was the offering I had the honor to share — a journey of healing, deep connection, and flow. Guided by the energy of water and the pulse of live music, every movement became a bridge to the living essence of our African diaspora.

Always grateful for these moments to share, heal, connect, and rise together.

Join us for a special Afro-Cuban dance experience with live music, where we dive into the energy of Afrekete — a powerful ocean divinity from the Arará tradition, rooted in West Africa.

Afrekete carries the essence of the sea: beauty, flow, sensuality, and deep spiritual connection. She is also closely related to Yemayá, the great mother of the ocean in the Yoruba tradition.

This session is more than dance — it’s about feeling, remembering, and reconnecting. Through movement, rhythm, and history, we let the ocean’s energy move through us and bring us together.

May Elegguá open the way for us in 2026.
Join us on January 24th for the first Afro-Cuban community gathering in Rotterdam.

Who is Eleggua?

Eleguá is a Yoruba deity and one of the most important orishas in Afro-Caribbean traditions such as Santería and Ifá. He is the orisha of crossroads, paths, and beginnings, and nothing starts without his permission. Eleguá is the messenger between humans and the divine, opening or closing the way to opportunities and change. He represents movement, choice, destiny, and transformation, often described as playful, clever, and unpredictable. In dance, Eleguá is embodied through quick, grounded, and dynamic movements, sudden changes of direction, and a strong sense of rhythm and intention symbolizing the moment where a path is chosen.
