🐴 Progress isn't linear

Progress almost never being a straight line also applies to game development. 📈

As you can see in this picture, taken in game, the texture of the horse isn't as detailed as the last posts. This is because we are trying out a new way of making the horse textures, which hopefully will save us a lot of time in the future. We'll elaborate more once we know for certain it works the way we want it to!

Next to that we are also fixing some bugs, improving the horse's neck and we are experimenting with some new hairstyles. 💇🏻‍♀️

Did you know that we launched an early patreon and discord. At some point we would love to offer playtesting through higher tiers (more on that later!) and gather feedback on discord. However as we are not there yet, we wanted to launch the lowest patreon tier in case anyone wanted to help us out by donating, and someone already did! This month we received our very first patron and we couldn't be more thankful. For the current available (lowest) tier we will post more indepth behind-the-scenes posts, our first one is already up: Intro into the current riding mechanics, and we are already planning our next post: a devlog on how we implemented our jumping mechanic.

Shooting jumping reference material for our game 🐎! Results in the video.

We went to The Hague to Manege Berestein to film riding lessons. Kirsten Duijvestijn is my cousin and an international showjumper who trains and competes with young horses. We recorded her with three very talented young horses to use as reference material for our jumping animations. In this video you'll see the very first implementation.
