❤️ Last Monday, PTAHA Ukrainian song group had the honour of standing alongside the community of Roermond during a moment of silence and remembrance.
✍️ 4 May is the day when the Netherlands comes to a standstill to honour all victims of war. Not even the rain could detract from the main thing—the sense of deep respect and shared silence in Zwartbroekplein.
✍️ For us, the ‘Ptaka’ choir, it was important to be there and share those few minutes of silence with the people. Because sometimes it is silence that speaks the loudest.
🙏 We are grateful for the opportunity to be part of this event to Gemeente Roermond, Franca van Gils and Carolien van der Linden ❤️
And for the reminder: to cherish the peace in which we live today.
🙏 Thanks Jos Eggen, MaryNL and Hanna CreativeFabricatiev for helping us prepare this performance. We sang Shumey’s song about parents losing their son in the war. We were all in tears. We would also like to thank Emmaliza and Angelique van Dijk for this creative musical 🎼 collaboration.
❤️ 😢 Today — we remember.
Tomorrow — we carry on living and cherishing it.
