Met veel plezier deel ik mijn nieuwe expositie bij RØST, in het hart van Middelburg.

De tentoonstelling bestaat uit 9 originele schilderijen, aangevuld met een selectie mini art prints, ansichtkaarten en boekenleggers, allemaal gebaseerd op mijn originele kunstwerken.

De komende drie maanden brengen zachte groentinten, diepe blauwen en rijke texturen een rustige sfeer in het warme interieur van het café. En er wacht nog een kleine verrassing: één van de schilderijen is bijna volledig geschilderd met koffie.

Last weekend I opened the doors of my home and studio during the Kunstroute in Oostkapelle. The next edition will take place on August 28–29.

This time the weather was beautifully sunny and very warm, so everyone who visited was truly determined to find me along the route — thank you for that.

For the exhibition, I presented a wall of artworks mainly inspired by the sea, with my own abstract interpretation and love for texture. This year I also displayed many postcards and a few bookmarks on the display rack, which attracted a lot of interest. Many visitors chose them as gifts for friends and family — something that always means a lot to me, because it shows they connected with the artworks and wanted to share them with others.

My seashell collection was also in the spotlight, and several pieces found new homes.

I would say every exhibition has its own atmosphere because each audience is different. That always makes it a surprise and a special experience.

I would like to thank everyone who stopped by, supported my art business, and shared a few kind words and conversations with me.

“Shaped by Time, Held by Light”

This artwork embodies a subtle yet powerful journey of transformation—an exploration of releasing deeply rooted patterns that once caused pain, and allowing them to evolve into something lighter.

The Alchemy of Sea is an original abstract painting that continues my exploration of texture, sea-inspired colour palettes, and refined metallic accents.

The composition balances two contrasting surfaces: one richly textured and sculptural, the other smoother and more fluid. This interplay creates depth and movement, echoing the changing surface of the sea.

Soft tones reminiscent of turquoise waters bring a sense of calm and spaciousness, while subtle metallic touches catch the light and add sophistication.

The painting is ready to hang.
A certificate of authenticity is attached to the back.

The artwork has been varnished and protected against UV rays to preserve the colours and surface over time. The deep edges (4 cm) are carefully painted in white, allowing the piece to be displayed beautifully with or without an additional frame.
