Since its establishment in 1992, the gallery represents and supports the work of emerging and mid-career artists of all media. In 2021 MPV Gallery opened a brand new location in Oisterwijk, the Netherlands.

Check out these pieces by Dutch artist Thomas Trum from our private collection: Ink on paper, framed. Thomas Trum builds his own tools - giant felt-tip pens, custom paint machines, even a road-marking device - to explore what a single line can do at scale. These works on paper are drawn with a giant felt pen, controlled with real precision. Each work is its own quiet study in color and motion.

Swipe through for a recap of my trip to Finland.

First stop: The storage facility, where Heikki Marila’s large-scale works were unwrapped one by one. Giant floral explosions.

From there, straight to Heikki’s studio. Walls covered floor to ceiling with small studies, works in progress everywhere, and Heikki walking me through his process.

Then it was time to switch off… feet up on the dock, a cold beer, and that endless Finnish summer light over the lake. Gallerist life has its perks.

Day two: On to Viljami Heinonen’s studio, a world away in mood - lush, layered interiors bursting with color and plant life.

Two artists, two universes, one incredible trip.

One single sweep of the squeegee, a whole hidden layer of paint underneath. Krauskopf calls this process “an overwriting of time”: an earlier, discarded composition nearly vanishes beneath a new, even layer of colour, only to break through again along sharp, torn edges.

Hans van Bentem’s Firefly brings the fleeting glow of summer evenings into glass.

Inspired by the natural phenomenon of fireflies, the sculpture glows from within, exploring light, transparency and transformation.

Summer holidays in Málaga with the family. Visited the Museo Picasso Málaga and the temporary exhibition “Transfiguration” by Portuguese artist Joana Vasconcelos; striking large-scale sculptural works using unexpected materials, from a chandelier made of earrings to embroidered textile pieces.

A great afternoon of art and family time.

With a history spanning more than 30 years, MPV Gallery has been constantly evolving. In 1992, gallery owner Mark Peet Visser followed in his father’s footsteps and became the owner of the gallery, which at the time focused on modern art, specializing in realism and art dealership. Today, MPV Gallery focuses on contemporary art and design, but thanks to our history, we possess a rich collection of modern art, with Peter Bol - one of our earliest artists - currently in the spotlight in a small presentation.
